Requirements
- Have commercial experience with Elixir, or strong backend development experience in Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, or PHP and strong motivation to learn Elixir.
- Have experience designing and building scalable applications.
- Understand databases; PostgreSQL experience is preferred.
- Have general knowledge of Elasticsearch and RabbitMQ.
- Bring strong debugging and problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to maintaining and improving applications.
- Focus on quality and reliability while making pragmatic engineering trade-offs.
- Bring a product mindset: ask questions, consider user problems, and weigh technical trade-offs.
- Be willing to participate in pair programming, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing.
- Be fluent in English; Polish is a plus.
- Experience with messaging systems at scale, such as transactional email or push notifications, is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Build and improve reliable, scalable backend solutions for Tellent Recruitee, an Applicant Tracking System.
- Develop new capabilities and modernize the existing codebase to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Design and implement solutions that balance technical quality with customer and business needs.
- Take ownership of features and ensure they are well-tested, maintainable, and meet quality standards.
- Investigate and resolve bugs and technical issues to maintain a stable customer experience.
- Participate in technical discussions and contribute to system design and architectural decisions.
- Collaborate with Backend and Frontend Engineers, Design, QA, and DevOps.
- Participate in pair programming and code reviews, and share knowledge with the team.
