Requirements
- Have 8+ years of software development experience building and operating scalable, reliable systems in production.
- Bring strong experience with complex ETL flows and high-throughput systems; this experience is highly preferred.
- Have a deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, networking, and databases.
- Have proven experience designing and scaling distributed systems, with a focus on performance, observability, and fault tolerance.
- Demonstrate strong architectural judgment and the ability to make technical decisions affecting multiple teams and systems.
- Be able to influence and mentor senior engineers, guide teams through ambiguity, and improve engineering practices.
- Bring ownership of initiatives and the ability to drive them forward.
- Have excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-autonomy, product-driven environment.
- Experience with e-commerce and catalog management is preferred.
- Familiarity with Python, Django, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and AWS is strongly preferred; experience with analogous systems and willingness to learn are also welcome.
Responsibilities
- Drive the design, architecture, and delivery of complex backend systems for 3D and computer vision experiences at scale.
- Lead development of mission-critical APIs, data pipelines, and services for high-traffic applications.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to define technical direction and plan for scale and performance.
- Mentor senior engineers and conduct architecture reviews.
- Set engineering standards for scalability, resiliency, observability, and maintainability.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives involving multiple teams and business stakeholders.
- Help shape the engineering organization’s long-term technical vision and culture.
- Influence hiring, onboarding, and growth strategies.
