Requirements

  • Have 5+ years in housing planning, community development, urban planning, or community engagement for public agencies.
  • Have experience on at least one housing study, housing plan, consolidated plan, or comprehensive plan.
  • Have professional fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English, or a deep fair-housing or homelessness-systems specialty.
  • Have experience facilitating public meetings with diverse and underserved communities.
  • Be able to travel occasionally to client sites in the Atlanta metro area.
  • Nice to have: experience with the Atlanta Regional Commission, Georgia DCA, or an Atlanta-metro county or city.
  • Nice to have: AICP certification.
  • Nice to have: experience with AFFH, Analysis of Impediments, or HUD fair housing planning.
  • Nice to have: Continuum of Care, HMIS, or coordinated entry experience.
  • Nice to have: GIS and data visualization experience with ArcGIS, Tableau, or Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate Spanish-English public meetings, pop-up events, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews for county and city housing plans.
  • Apply ARC Community Development Assistance Program (CDAP) and Asset-Based Community Development practices.
  • Coordinate with ARC staff and community-based organizations.
  • Analyze fair housing conditions, including segregation, opportunity mapping, and zoning barriers.
  • Draft equity-driven housing strategies and indicators.
  • Help design emergency and transitional housing frameworks and referral pathways with Continuum of Care partners.
  • Translate and adapt surveys and public materials and review them for plain language and cultural fit.
  • Draft sections of housing needs assessments, strategic housing plans, and implementation matrices.
