Requirements
- Bring 6+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- Have strong fundamentals in service-oriented architecture, API design, and data modeling.
- Be proficient in Java and/or Kotlin.
- Be comfortable working in a microservices environment, including RPC frameworks, service IDLs, and dependency injection.
- Have experience designing systems where correctness and authorization are first-class concerns.
- Have shipped migrations or infrastructure changes that other teams depend on.
- Account for backward compatibility and rollout safety when making changes.
- Clearly document problems, root causes, and trade-offs between solutions.
- Turn complex, evolving privacy or identity requirements into concrete technical designs amid ambiguity.
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services and APIs that enforce identity and privacy rules across product surfaces.
- Contribute to large-scale migrations away from legacy identity patterns.
- Build tooling that makes migrations safe to run broadly.
- Define and evolve authorization logic for context-scoped data access.
- Partner with teams building messaging, trips, profile, and other products to make privacy primitives usable and hard to misuse.
- Participate in design and code reviews and raise correctness standards.
- Debug and resolve production issues using structured root-cause analysis.
