Requirements
- Have 4+ years of experience building and operating production software, including backend services and APIs.
- Have demonstrated production experience integrating third-party APIs and owning those integrations over time.
- Bring strong backend skills in Go, Node.js, Python, Java, or a similar language.
- Have enough frontend ability to build configuration and setup UI in React or a comparable framework.
- Have working knowledge of OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and webhooks, including their failure modes.
- Have relational database experience; PostgreSQL is preferred.
- Have cloud experience; AWS is preferred.
- Be comfortable investigating unfamiliar platforms and verifying behavior rather than relying solely on documentation.
Responsibilities
- Design and build connectors into third-party enterprise platforms, covering authentication, data flow, event handling, and verification experiences in host applications.
- Build the Nametag-side APIs, services, and webhooks that integrations depend on.
- Build console configuration and setup experiences for customers installing and operating integrations.
- Take integrations through marketplace and app review processes.
- Implement integrations using OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and platform-specific alternatives.
- Handle rate limits, partial outages, breaking changes, and undocumented platform behavior.
- Operate integrations in production and diagnose customer-specific failures.
- Build observability to surface broken integrations before customers encounter them.
- Design for versioning and backwards compatibility.
- Develop shared infrastructure, tooling, scaffolding, templates, and documentation for integrations.
