Requirements
- Have 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Bring at least some experience leading or mentoring a team, formally or informally.
- Have deep, practical knowledge of TypeScript/React and Go, and be able to read, write, and review code.
- Have solid experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
- Know modern DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Have experience building third-party integrations and designing clean APIs.
- Have a track record of shipping in a SaaS environment with continuous deployment.
- Have excellent written and spoken English skills; German skills are a plus.
- Bring an interest in data visualization.
- Understand how engineering decisions support business priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the engineering team across data visualization, frontend, backend, integrations, and DevOps.
- Set technical direction, unblock engineers, review code, and maintain engineering quality.
- Own the platform architecture, technology choices, and scalability while remaining hands-on.
- Steer TypeScript/React development for web and desktop, and Go/Postgres backend development.
- Drive development of the browser-based TypeScript data visualization engine and its interaction interfaces.
- Own third-party integrations, including Google Slides, Microsoft PowerPoint, and SSO/IdP providers.
- Run CI/CD and deployment processes and maintain production systems on Vercel and AWS.
- Manage Docker-based preview environments and critical systems and integrations.
- Help maintain data protection and security standards, documentation, and policies, and manage technical risk.
- Coordinate releases, investigate bugs, pair with engineers, and address customer integration issues.
