Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in a related discipline.
  • Minimum of thirteen years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of designing mechanical systems and applicable codes, code analysis, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
  • Proficiency producing drawings and visual aids using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Skill performing and analyzing load calculations, energy simulations, and system hydronics.
  • Ability to select HVAC equipment and create hydronic flow diagrams and specify piping accessories.
  • Ability to review and select DDC controls and fire alarm/protection system devices, determine points lists, write sequences of operation, and develop system architecture.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to lead and delegate work, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment with self-motivation, organization, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced mechanical design activities and perform complex engineering, computation, and design tasks.
  • Perform and analyze load calculations, energy simulations, and system hydronics.
  • Prepare drawings and visual aids using AutoCAD and Revit, and review or prepare project specifications.
  • Develop or review HVAC controls sequences of operation and prepare project proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Manage project design teams, coordinate resources, and address scope changes, costs, and deadlines.
  • Lead construction activities, including site surveys, technical reports, construction documents, and coordination with project management.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, punch lists, closeout documents, and change order requests.
  • Serve as a primary client contact and support business development, marketing, and technical research.
  • Mentor associates and contribute to training, standards development, and strategic planning.
  • Lead adoption of technology, digital platforms, and AI-enabled tools while aligning solutions with company data security and privacy standards.
