Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of experience in engineering, mechanical design, project engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Hold an associate degree, technical diploma, or bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Have a strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and core engineering concepts.
  • Have experience with 3D CAD platforms such as Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar tools.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrate analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities, including root-cause identification.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to collaborate across technical and business teams.
  • Have organizational skills and attention to detail, including the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in industrial equipment, manufacturing, metals, steel, heavy industry, or capital equipment environments is preferred.
  • Customer-facing technical experience, project coordination, product development, or engineering change management experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical designs, proposal drawings, installation concepts, and equipment specifications for flow control and slide gate systems.
  • Design, modify, and improve mechanical equipment, including drives, support structures, and associated system components.
  • Produce detailed engineering documentation and drawings for customer projects and equipment execution.
  • Coordinate engineering activities throughout project lifecycles and help ensure deliverables meet customer requirements and timelines.
  • Support trials, conversions, equipment upgrades, and new equipment installations.
  • Evaluate customer processes and operational requirements and recommend engineering solutions.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Field Service, and R&D teams on projects and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance to customers and internal teams on product applications, system performance, and equipment functionality.
  • Contribute to new technologies, products, and engineering improvements.
