Requirements
- Have 10+ years of overall software engineering experience, including at least 2+ years in a Software Development Manager or equivalent role.
- Have expert-level proficiency in Go, Python, or Node.js.
- Have managed a platform team or worked as an individual contributor on platform teams for at least 3+ years at enterprise scale.
- Maintain a hands-on engineering orientation, including code review, production debugging, and architecture work.
- Have practical experience managing GCP and/or AWS services, including provisioning, scaling, IAM, networking, and cost governance.
- Show measurable results from cloud cost optimization initiatives in an enterprise environment.
- Understand distributed systems architecture, including consistency, availability, fault tolerance, scaling patterns, and trade-offs.
- Have hands-on observability experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, or equivalent tools.
- Have experience with roadmap planning, estimation, and delivering complex initiatives on time.
- Have people management experience, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Actively use AI tools in engineering workflows; experience building or integrating agent-driven systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve distributed systems architecture for platform services.
- Drive cloud infrastructure cost optimization while maintaining reliability and performance.
- Own roadmap planning, estimation, and predictable delivery for the platform team.
- Establish observability and incident management practices, and drive blameless postmortems.
- Use metrics and data to prioritize work and report on platform health, cost, and team performance.
- Hire, mentor, and develop engineers while setting technical standards.
- Partner with product engineering, SRE/infra, security, and leadership on platform capabilities.
- Represent platform priorities, risks, and progress to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
- Lead cloud infrastructure and service management across GCP and/or AWS, including provisioning, scaling, security, and cost governance.
- Guide adoption of AI-driven engineering practices, agentic workflows, and AI-assisted tooling.
