Requirements
- Have 7+ years of experience building and operating production web applications, with a track record of customer or business impact.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead complex projects across frontend and backend layers, including ambiguous requirements or cross-team dependencies.
- Bring strong experience with a modern frontend framework such as React and a typed language such as TypeScript, or equivalent experience.
- Have strong backend experience designing or operating APIs, services, data stores, or asynchronous systems in production.
- Have experience with a backend language such as Go, Python, Rust, or an equivalent language.
- Apply sound judgment across architecture, user experience, accessibility, performance, reliability, security, and maintainability tradeoffs.
- Connect technical decisions to customer outcomes and business goals.
- Create alignment with engineers and cross-functional partners through clear communication and inclusive decision-making.
- Have experience mentoring engineers, improving team practices, and raising the quality of technical execution.
- Take ownership of the full lifecycle of the systems and experiences you help build.
- Be comfortable learning unfamiliar systems and navigating changing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of large or ambiguous end-to-end initiatives across frontend and backend systems.
- Develop product experiences with technologies such as TypeScript and React, and services and APIs with Go, Python, or comparable tools.
- Translate customer problems and product goals into technical designs, tradeoffs, and incremental delivery plans.
- Own work from discovery and design through implementation, launch, measurement, operational support, and iteration.
- Partner with Product, Design, Data, and engineering leaders to balance usability, accessibility, performance, reliability, security, cost, and time to value.
- Establish patterns and practices that improve consistency, maintainability, developer experience, and quality.
- Improve observability and operational health across frontend and backend systems, and participate in incident response when needed.
- Influence architecture and technical direction through design documents, code reviews, and technical discussions.
- Mentor engineers and help teammates develop technical judgment, product instincts, and end-to-end delivery skills.
- Represent customer needs and production realities in cross-functional decisions and connect technical work to measurable outcomes.
