Requirements
- Bring proven engineering leadership experience, ideally as a VP of Engineering, Head of Engineering, or similar leader in a health technology environment.
- Have experience building and scaling healthcare technology.
- Understand HIPAA, security, privacy, and sensitive health data requirements.
- Demonstrate the ability to take complex technical challenges from strategy and architecture through hands-on implementation.
- Have experience building technology for tech-enabled services or operationally complex businesses.
- Know modern data infrastructure and cloud-based systems.
- Be familiar with Python and SQL.
- Have practical experience applying AI to automate backend workflows, augment human operations, and develop real-world products.
- Be able to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and move between strategic planning and hands-on development.
- Have strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business functions.
- Experience with medical claims, prior authorization, or other complex healthcare data is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO and functional leaders to define technical strategy, priorities, and the engineering roadmap.
- Identify opportunities to apply technology and AI to improve operational efficiency and support more patients at scale.
- Design and build foundational technology systems.
- Lead development of tools for patient navigation, communications, research, and healthcare data processing.
- Translate complex business and operational challenges into scalable technical solutions.
- Establish engineering infrastructure, development practices, and technical processes.
- Lead and develop the engineering function, including growing the team and establishing its organizational structure.
- Balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution, architecture, and problem-solving.
- Evaluate whether to build, buy, automate, or redesign technology based on business needs and impact.
