Requirements
- Have proven experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar role focused on system architecture, infrastructure, and development.
- Have strong experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies such as Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, and Docker.
- Be familiar with continuous delivery, distributed architectures, containerization, cloud services, infrastructure-as-code, and everything-as-code practices.
- Have experience with Terraform or Pulumi, GitOps, Helm, Kustomize, and CNCF or open-source projects.
- Be proficient in at least one of Python, Go, or Ansible, with basic shell scripting knowledge.
- Have strong proficiency with YAML and an understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps principles, including CI/CD theory and implementation.
- Have experience working in an Agile framework within a remote or distributed team environment.
- Have strong independent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging capabilities.
- Have experience with security automation and familiarity with API security, container security, and cloud security.
- Know secure architecture design, monitoring, and performance instrumentation in complex enterprise environments.
- Hold DoD 8570 IAT II certification.
- Have experience supporting Department of Defense environments, particularly production systems with an Authority to Operate (ATO).
- Be able to travel approximately 10–25% as required.
Responsibilities
- Build, automate, and maintain production runtime environments for application workloads.
- Bridge application development teams and platform environments, promoting platform best practices.
- Validate technical solutions against requirements to support platform integrity, reliability, and efficiency.
- Investigate and solve technical and business problems, developing focused components or solutions when needed.
- Translate technical tasks into platform capabilities and integrate components with cross-functional teams.
- Apply programming and scripting to automate processes and solve infrastructure challenges.
- Support Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, continuous delivery, containers, and automation tooling.
- Contribute to security automation, monitoring, performance instrumentation, and secure architecture practices.
- Troubleshoot complex systems and read, write, and debug code during platform development and operations.
- Promote scalable DevOps and DevSecOps practices and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
