Requirements
- Have a BS, MS, Ph.D., or equivalent, plus 5 years of experience.
- Be proficient at authoring scripts in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Ruby, or JavaScript.
- Have experience designing and operating high-scale patterns in AWS.
- Have experience building and designing repeatable CI/CD workflows; GitLab is preferred.
- Be able to quickly understand and debug complex distributed systems.
- Manage time effectively across competing projects.
- Training in secure coding practices is preferred.
- Confident Python writing, professional-level AWS certifications, and GCP or Azure experience are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Build scalable and resilient applications and infrastructure in AWS with other Site Reliability Engineers.
- Maintain and improve extensible infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
- Learn, maintain, and improve existing deployment strategies.
- Deliver observability, monitoring, and alerting patterns for applications and infrastructure.
- Identify and resolve the root causes of production incidents as an escalation point.
- Assist in designing globally distributed systems and processes.
- Identify and correct deficiencies in applications and infrastructure.
- Define approaches and tailored solutions to complex technical problems.
- Lead projects with other Site Reliability Engineers and communicate progress to stakeholders.
