Requirements
- Have a BS, MS, Ph.D., or equivalent, plus 5 years of experience.
- Be proficient at authoring scripts in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Ruby, or JavaScript.
- Have experience designing and operating high-scale patterns in AWS.
- Have experience building and designing repeatable continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows; GitLab is preferred.
- Be able to quickly understand and debug complex distributed systems.
- Manage time effectively across competing projects.
- Communicate effectively.
- Preferred: training in secure coding practices.
- Preferred: confidence writing in Python.
- Preferred: AWS Cloud certifications at the Professional level.
- Preferred: experience with GCP and/or Azure.
- Preferred: experience working for a public company.
- Preferred: open-source contributions or technical blog experience.
Responsibilities
- Build scalable, cloud-native, resilient applications and infrastructure in AWS with other Site Reliability Engineers.
- Maintain and improve extensible infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
- Learn, maintain, and improve existing deployment strategies.
- Deliver observability, monitoring, and alerting patterns for applications and infrastructure.
- Identify and resolve the root causes of production incidents as an escalation point.
- Assist with designing globally distributed systems and processes.
- Identify and correct deficiencies in applications and infrastructure.
- Define tailored approaches to complex technical problems.
- Lead projects with other Site Reliability Engineers and communicate progress to stakeholders.
