Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, data delivery or a similar role.
- Practical experience with Azure Databricks and SQL, including data transformation and combining information from multiple sources.
- Experience with Power BI reports or semantic models.
- A good understanding of ETL/ELT, data modelling, testing and data quality.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements and work effectively with business and technical teams.
- Confidence asking questions, explaining findings and pushing back constructively.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Delta-based solutions or Finance reporting is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Gather reporting requirements from business stakeholders, clarify definitions and constructively challenge requests when another approach better meets the underlying need.
- Map data and reporting logic across multiple source systems and help define a common reporting layer.
- Work across data ingestion and ETL/ELT through Databricks transformations, curated datasets, Power BI semantic models and reports.
- Collaborate with data engineers and BI developers on data models, transformation rules and solution design.
- Validate source and transformed data, reconcile calculations and investigate discrepancies between systems and reports.
- Check delivered solutions against agreed requirements and support testing, deployment and ongoing improvements.
- Document business definitions and key decisions, and help users adopt new reports and functionality.
