Requirements
- Have a proven track record of leading teams and delivering complex technical work under tight deadlines, especially in startup or fast-moving, project-based environments.
- Bring current, expert-level engineering ability and be able to deliver hands-on.
- Have 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Have at least 2 years of team leadership experience; teams are typically 5–6+ people.
- Bring proficiency in data analysis and data-quality practices, including statistical analysis and data manipulation.
- Have experience with data tools such as Pandas, NumPy, and SQL.
- Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Be willing to work Pacific Time business hours and maintain overlap with a Pacific-based team.
- Python and JavaScript ecosystem expertise is cited as an example of relevant engineering ability.
- AI, data science, or data engineering backgrounds are strongly preferred; AI, fine-tuning, or custom-data experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end project delivery, personally building, operating data, configuring the stack, or setting up infrastructure when needed.
- Guide the team on architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Define technical specifications, scope tasks, and drive engineering execution toward on-time delivery.
- Lead and organize a team building custom AI and data solutions for enterprise clients.
- Allocate work based on team members' skills and performance, and prioritize to meet business goals.
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners to keep projects aligned.
- Monitor progress and optimize development processes for speed and efficiency.
- Review tasks, provide actionable feedback, identify risks early, and ensure work meets quality standards before shipping.
- Identify high and low performers, mentor team members, and support their growth.
