Requirements
- Experience as a classroom teacher, EL/ESL/ELL educator, tutor, coach, or in similar student support.
- Online instruction experience and a college degree are preferred.
- Ability to build professional connections with students and create an encouraging, motivating learning environment.
- Computer (laptop or desktop) and webcam.
- Clean, distraction-free environment.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection of at least 20 Mbps.
- Reside and tutor from one of the listed states or Washington, DC.
- Availability often including at least one hour Monday through Thursday between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM ET.
- Attend at least 80% of claimed sessions.
- Complete the application steps, including a five-minute recorded demonstration, and paid self-paced tutor certification if offered and accepted.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-designed math and reading lessons to students in grades K–8.
- Provide targeted support for skills and topics at or below grade level.
- Give students practice time and guide them with supportive corrections.
- Maintain student behavior and engagement in a virtual classroom.
- Attend at least 80% of claimed sessions.
- Participate in the application and onboarding process, including a recorded tutoring demonstration and tutor certification.
