Requirements
- Have a solid understanding of Java, AWT, Swing, and Java2D.
- Have hands-on experience analyzing thread dumps, JVM crash logs, or memory issues using standard JDK diagnostic tools.
- Be able to read and understand tests using frameworks such as jtreg, JUnit, gtest, or ctest.
- Have experience reproducing complex technical issues.
- Have experience working with issue trackers such as YouTrack, Jira, or GitHub.
- Be familiar with macOS and Linux environments.
- Demonstrate a focus on quality and deep technical investigation.
- Communicate clearly and be comfortable advocating for your perspective while remaining open to others.
- Take responsibility for keeping issues organized and moving forward.
- Show curiosity about underlying systems and application architecture.
Responsibilities
- Analyze automated test results from regular builds to investigate Java runtime and test failures.
- Investigate user-reported issues to ensure accurate triage.
- Analyze thread dumps and JVM crash logs to pinpoint deadlocks, freezes, and Event Dispatch Thread responsiveness issues in the IDE.
- Communicate with developers to understand runtime architecture and ongoing changes.
- Collaborate with the support team to reproduce and resolve issues reported in public builds.
- Identify JetBrains Runtime quality issues, keep the tracker organized, and prioritize quality tasks.
