Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, data engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Hands-on Power BI experience, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, workspace administration, and refresh management.
- Experience building, maintaining, and monitoring Azure Data Factory pipelines.
- Familiarity with Azure Databricks, including running and maintaining notebooks and working with repositories.
- Strong SQL skills with relational databases such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, or similar technologies, including query optimization and tuning.
- Practical knowledge of BI data modeling principles, including dimensional modeling and star schema design.
- Experience with source control and pull requests through Azure DevOps or an equivalent Git-based platform.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, with an emphasis on data accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment and collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Owners, and business stakeholders.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, including translating business requirements into technical deliverables.
- Preferred: experience with healthcare data, particularly post-acute or long-term care data and CMS public datasets.
- Preferred: experience with R or Python in data pipelines, analytics, or related technical environments; exposure to predictive modeling or machine learning workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models for internal and client-facing applications.
- Apply and document Power BI development standards, including workspace organization, refresh management, performance optimization, and reusable patterns.
- Use AI-powered tools to develop reports and models, then validate outputs against source data and business requirements.
- Run and monitor production reporting processes, including data ingestion, Azure Data Factory pipelines, Databricks notebooks, output validation, and scheduled report delivery.
- Build, maintain, and adapt Azure Data Factory pipelines as data sources and requirements evolve.
- Manage source control and pull requests through Azure DevOps or comparable Git-based tools, preparing changes for production deployment.
- Design and maintain SQL tables, views, and datasets using dimensional modeling, appropriate data grain, and star schema principles.
- Validate report and data accuracy, troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
- Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, data definitions, and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with Product and Account Management teams to translate reporting needs into BI solutions and participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
