Requirements
- Be a currently matriculated legal student.
- Have completed at least one year of law school by the start of the internship.
- Demonstrate commitment to advancing and protecting the civil liberties of LGBTQ+ people and people living with HIV.
- Have excellent research skills, including internet and legal database research.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and strong organization and time-management skills.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Show initiative to see projects through to completion.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal and factual research for current and prospective litigation.
- Draft research memoranda for litigation matters.
- Potentially draft litigation documents, including discovery requests, affidavits, and motions.
- Research and draft materials for legislative advocacy.
- Research and draft materials for public education.
