Requirements
- Bring deep professional experience writing production services from ideation through production operations at scale.
- Apply strong distributed systems fundamentals, including replication, consistency models, partitioning, and fault tolerance.
- Have experience designing and operating systems for large-scale, high-traffic, high-availability, or multi-tenant environments.
- Build and consume gRPC/protobuf APIs and design service contracts across service boundaries.
- Demonstrate strong database skills with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, including schema design, query optimization, and migrations at scale.
- Have experience with large-scale CI/CD systems, build tooling, or continuous delivery pipelines.
- Work with Kubernetes and containerized deployment environments, including stateful workloads and multi-tenant clusters.
- Use observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus metrics, structured logging, and distributed tracing.
- Be familiar with dependency injection patterns such as Google Wire and clean, testable service architecture.
- Communicate and work effectively as a member of an engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend systems powering Grafana Enterprise.
- Architect and implement distributed backend services in Go, focusing on correctness, observability, and performance at scale.
- Design APIs and service contracts for enterprise operators and cloud service providers.
- Collaborate with Product and UX and partner with frontend engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Drive scalability and reliability improvements for operators running Grafana in regulated, high-availability environments.
- Engage with enterprise customers and cloud service providers to understand requirements and translate them into engineering solutions.
- Drive projects from ideation through development and production.
- Own platform operational health by participating in weekday and weekend on-call rotations.
- Hire and develop engineers and contribute to engineering and operational practices.
