Requirements

  • High School Diploma (minimum), college preferred.
  • 4-5 years of total professional experience.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Financial Care Counselor or similar revenue cycle role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum six months of data entry experience.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Medical terminology knowledge.
  • Knowledge of telephone etiquette.
  • Entry-level supervisory skills, including coaching, counseling, and performance evaluation.
  • Knowledge of staff planning and preceptor foundations.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and provide oral/written instructions.
  • Ability to apply specific departmental policies and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert support and oversight for daily registration and financial counseling activities.
  • Collaborate with the Service Access Manager to deliver real-time coaching and feedback to Financial Care Counselors (FCCs).
  • Assist in planning work schedules and daily assignments for the team.
  • Monitor hospital work queues (Patient, Account, Charge Review, PB and HB Claim Edits) to ensure timely resolution.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and monitor initiatives to ensure metrics are met.
  • Participate in the interview process and provide feedback for hiring and termination decisions.
  • Actively train, coach, and orient new employees using departmental checklists.
  • Support the Service Access Manager by investigating operational issues and escalating urgent matters when necessary.
