Requirements
- Qualified lawyer admitted in at least one EU / EEA Member State or the UK.
- 10+ years of post-qualification legal experience, including significant in-house and/or financial services experience.
- Demonstrated track record of owning regulatory and licensing matters.
- Deep experience drafting and negotiating material commercial agreements.
- Strong project management and organizational discipline.
- Ability to research novel questions and provide practical, decisive guidance.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Experience with cryptoasset regulation, consumer credit, or EU data protection (GDPR) is preferred.
- Familiarity with EU AI Act or UK Financial Promotions (FinProm) is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior legal lead for Strike’s European and UK business and primary point of contact for legal matters.
- Develop and drive regulatory strategy including MiCA authorization, UK MLR registration, and compliance with PSD2 and FSMA regimes.
- Advise product teams on the full lifecycle of financial products to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead negotiations on commercial agreements including banking, payment rails, custody, trading, and lending partners.
- Manage outside counsel across the region and direct regulatory engagement with authorities such as the MFSA and FCA.
- Support AML/CFT programs and provide guidance on GDPR obligations in product development.
