Requirements
- Significant experience in designing and developing strategic software systems in a production environment.
- Demonstrated history of technical leadership across multiple teams or broad product scopes.
- Experience shaping architectures for large-scale, complex operational systems.
- Experience building and operating cloud systems with high reliability, security, and performance requirements.
- Proven ability to deliver results under tight deadlines with incomplete information.
- Strong system-thinking skills, balancing product vision, architecture, and operational reality.
- Experience working across multiple technical stacks including backend, web, mobile, databases, APIs, and event-driven systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
- Sound judgment to moderate technical discussions, manage disagreements, and drive consensus.
- Hands-on approach to prototyping, architectural review, and direct contribution when necessary.
- Fluency in English is required.
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate architectural vision for key sectors of the Retail Point of Sale.
- Ensure systems supporting new POS features are secure, scalable, observable, and resilient.
- Guide teams in designing reliable experiences for checkout, hardware, networking, payments, sales, inventory, and order flows.
- Conduct deep architectural analysis to simplify systems, reduce duplication, improve performance, and lower operational risks.
- Drive improvements in reliability, availability, latency, and recovery, especially during critical merchant periods.
- Identify recurring incident sources and client pain points to develop actionable mitigation plans.
- Establish and evolve engineering practices regarding design, testing, deployment, observability, and incident management.
- Collaborate with product, design, and support teams to transform complex business requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor senior engineers and tech leads to broaden their impact and autonomous decision-making.
- Create alignment across teams through influence and clear architectural decision-making.
