Requirements
- 5-8 years of direct experience supporting federal cybersecurity programs as an ISSO.
- Experience drafting FISMA-related artifacts including system security plans, incident response plans, and configuration management plans.
- Demonstrated experience applying NIST Special Publications to information systems.
- Experience performing continuous monitoring of security controls.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity tools such as Tenable, Qualys, and GRC tools (e.g., Xacta, eMass, or CSAM).
- Experience participating in security assessments and audits.
- Public Trust clearance eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Develop functional and technical requirements and serve as a point of contact for information systems with security issues.
- Prepare and update reports for FISMA and Capital Planning compliance.
- Coordinate security program elements with agency IT Program Managers by evaluating architecture, hardware, software, and threats.
- Manage security controls to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.
- Build security into the system development process and support the acquisition of new systems.
- Complete security assessments and support the Assessment and Authorization process.
- Create and update System Security Plans and other ATO documentation.
- Audit and monitor system and security logs for threats and suspicious activity.
- Monitor and coordinate patch management and vulnerability mitigation.
