Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional hardware and/or embedded systems product development teams, taking firmware and software from concept to production
- 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, and verifying FPGA-based systems using VHDL or Verilog
- Experience using code-generators to translate MATLAB/Simulink algorithms into FPGA implementations
- Proficient in C and C++
- Experience with RTOS (Real Time Operating Systems)
- Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices and technologies
- Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc.
- Familiarity with flight software architectures and development processes for embedded systems
- Proficiency with basic EE test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, etc.) and testing PCBAs
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
Responsibilities
- Work with a cross-functional engineering team (RF, DSP, Firmware, FPGA, software, Test) to deliver robust embedded processing solutions for communications and networking.
- Execute and optimize the FPGA Firmware implementation development lifecycle, from algorithms in Matlab and/or Simulink and requirements definition through architecture, design, development, Firmware implementation, test, integration, support and sustainment for low-cost FPGAs, SoCs, and SoMs.
- Establish and optimize comprehensive product development workflows and best practices across the HDL firmware lifecycle, encompassing architecture, design, simulation, verification, and system testing.
- Develop microProcessor ICDs between FPGA and message/data handling schemes
