Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, health/environmental science, mathematics/statistics, or a related field
- 0 to 5 years of experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint)
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to apply rules consistently
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding time-management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Willingness and ability to learn new software and technical skills as required
- Experience with occupational health and safety and structured coding (e.g. OIICS, ICD coding) is preferred
- Experience or coursework in data analysis or data management is preferred
Responsibilities
- Review workplace injury, illness, and fatality records and apply standardized case-classification codes using the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Occupational Injury and Illness Classification System (OIICS)
- Exercise thoughtful, independent judgment to accurately classify complex or ambiguous cases while maintaining speed and consistency
- Draft brief, clear incident narratives that summarize the circumstances of each case in plain, concise language
- Manage multiple work queues and deadlines while maintaining high quality and attention to detail
- Collaborate regularly with team members and senior analysts for guidance, quality checks, and knowledge sharing
- Contribute to documentation, process improvements, and evolving analytical practices over time
