Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, analytics, or a related field (preferred).
- 2–3+ years of experience in medical billing, claims operations, or revenue cycle management.
- Strong understanding of the claim lifecycle, including creation, submission, clearinghouse processing, and payer rejection/acceptance.
- Experience investigating EDI transactions, clearinghouse issues, and payer requirements.
- Working knowledge of medical billing and coding concepts (CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10, modifiers, authorization).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions.
- Working knowledge of SQL and experience with a data warehouse or analytics platform such as Snowflake.
- Ability to independently obtain data using SQL and leverage AI-assisted query development.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize patterns and translate data into operational solutions.
- Strong project management and organizational skills to drive initiatives independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings to leadership.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert for clean claim submission and front-end billing processes.
- Analyze claim rejections and operational data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Investigate EDI, clearinghouse, authorization, and provider enrollment issues to resolve submission barriers.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical resources to track claim performance.
- Independently manage complex issue-resolution initiatives from identification through implementation and monitoring.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Coding, Insurance Verification, and Technology to ensure accurate claim processing.
- Prepare executive-ready materials and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.
