Requirements
- Expert-level American Sign Language fluency.
- Deep understanding of Deaf culture and visual linguistics.
- Knowledge of ASL grammar, syntax, non-manual markers, fingerspelling, and regional variations.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Deaf Studies, Sign Language Interpreting, Linguistics, or a related field preferred.
- RID certification, teaching experience, or community interpreting experience are signals of fit.
- Capability to clearly articulate linguistic analysis and metacognitive communication.
- Must be able to supply a secure computer and high-speed internet.
Responsibilities
- Converse with the model on real-world ASL communication scenarios and theoretical questions in signed language linguistics.
- Verify linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness of model responses.
- Capture reproducible error traces for model failures.
- Document model failure modes to harden reasoning capabilities.
- Suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.
