3–5 years of professional software or data engineering experience.
Strong SQL and Python skills.
Experience building and operating production data pipelines.
Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow.
Experience with cloud data warehouses or lakehouses such as Snowflake or Databricks.
Solid understanding of data pipeline concepts, including idempotency, schema evolution, backfills, and data quality testing.
Experience providing substantive code review feedback.
Strong communication skills for technical handovers and stakeholder collaboration.
Proven ability to own and resolve known-class technical problems independently.
Knowledge of PII masking, RBAC, or reverse ETL patterns (nice to have).
Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog (nice to have).

Implement new ingestion sources end-to-end, including connector code, DAGs, schema, monitoring, and catalog registration.
Investigate and resolve pipeline failures independently.
Identify downstream consumers and potential risks before shipping new pipelines.
Write clear handovers for escalated issues, documenting investigation steps and findings.
Conduct thorough code reviews for peers, identifying non-obvious issues like race conditions or missing idempotency.
Perform structured data lineage investigations to resolve data quality questions.
Contribute to data security and governance tasks such as PII masking and access control implementation.
Mentor junior data engineers on significant projects and help scope requirements with stakeholders.
