Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building software at product companies.
- Proven experience in a Senior Software Engineer, Lead Engineer, or similar technical leadership role.
- Deep technical and architecture foundation with the ability to explain system trade-offs and load performance.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI and agents as a default way of working, including knowledge of specific tools, models, and harnesses.
- Experience coaching peers beyond just junior team members.
- Proven track record of driving a change in team workflows supported by metric validation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to hold constructive disagreements.
- Expertise in exercising judgment on product scope and defending decisions on what not to build.
- Proactive mindset, preferring to fix issues independently rather than waiting for assignment.
- Experience working in real, cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead feature work end to end: shape the scope with the PM, make the architectural calls, decide what to cut, and own whether it actually worked once it's live.
- Use agents and AI tooling as your default way of building, and pull the rest of the team up to where you are.
- Coach the engineers around you, including the ones who are not junior, through pairing, review, and direct feedback.
- Change how we work by spotting processes that cost the team time, building the case, getting buy-in, and implementing improvements.
- Partner with the EM and PM by pushing back on the roadmap, bringing forward unnoticed problems, and providing early feedback.
- Connect technical work to company objectives by choosing and tracking success metrics.
