Requirements
- Strong Controller-level experience owning accounting operations in smaller or mid-sized businesses.
- Experience in a sponsor-backed, PE-backed, or VC-backed environment.
- Meaningful exposure to FP&A, forecasting, variance analysis, budgeting, and board reporting.
- Proven experience with project-based accounting, fixed-price services revenue, or complex revenue models.
- Familiarity with acquisition integration, including GL alignment and data cleanup.
- Proficiency in accounting process discipline and financial record-keeping.
- Ability to work directly with senior finance and executive leadership.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close and reporting workflows.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day accounting operations across payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, month-end close, and reporting workflows.
- Lead the close process with a focus on speed, accuracy, reviewability, and repeatability.
- Build and improve financial reporting packages to support leadership, board reporting, and audit readiness.
- Support monthly variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning exercises.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate finance workflows and modernize the tech stack.
- Oversee integration of accounting operations for recently acquired business lines.
- Manage one direct report in a senior accountant capacity.
