Requirements
- Relevant experience in snow and ice engineering, polar logistics, or related technical research.
- Experience with data collection and analysis.
- Experience with laboratory or field work.
- Experience with technical report preparation.
- Ability to apply technical judgment to resolve laboratory or field instrumentation and equipment issues.
- Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
- Valid state driver’s license and insurability on company insurance policy.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical input for developing design, performance, and evaluation specifications for ARFF vehicles used on polar snow and ice runways.
- Develop comprehensive guidance and decision-support documents for US Antarctic Program personnel operating snow and ice runways and balloon launch pads.
- Develop and update UFC documents applicable to snow and ice runways and skiways.
- Evaluate in-situ runway strength measurement tools to establish aircraft operating limits.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
