Requirements
- Proven previous experience working within the New Zealand construction industry.
- Practical understanding of New Zealand construction methods, terminology, documentation and pricing.
- Experience across both residential and commercial construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience in quantity surveying, estimating or construction cost management.
- Ability to complete accurate quantity take-offs from architectural and construction drawings.
- Experience preparing detailed quotations and full tender submissions.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
- Practical experience with CostX or comparable estimating software.
- Strong professional English and the ability to communicate clearly.
- Availability to work 30–40 hours per week during New Zealand business hours.
Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documentation.
- Complete detailed quantity take-offs for residential and commercial construction projects.
- Manage the preparation of complete tender submissions from initial review through to final delivery.
- Prepare, price and document multiple variations across active projects.
- Track actual project costs against estimates and complete back costing to compare performance.
- Coordinate material, product and subcontractor requirements for active projects.
- Provide basic project-management and administrative support when estimating workloads are lighter.
