Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with previous claims adjusting experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with casualty, bodily injury, and liability property damage claims.
  • An adjuster’s license is required, or candidates should have completed at least the first four CIP courses: C11, C12, C13, and C14.
  • CIP designation or active progress toward the designation is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, including the ability to identify cause-and-effect relationships and draw sound conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal and insurance documentation and perform advanced numerical calculations and comparative analysis.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including strong grammar and technical writing abilities.
  • Strong verbal communication, listening, interviewing, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and OneDrive.
  • Commitment to continuous education, professional learning, and development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage liability and casualty claims throughout the adjustment lifecycle, including investigation, assessment, documentation, negotiation, and resolution.
  • Handle claims involving casualty, bodily injury, and liability-related property damage while applying appropriate claims practices and insurance principles.
  • Investigate claims thoroughly, identify relevant facts and cause-and-effect relationships, and draw well-supported conclusions.
  • Review and interpret complex insurance, legal, and technical documentation to support accurate claims decisions.
  • Conduct interviews and communicate with claimants, clients, insurers, legal representatives, and other relevant stakeholders as required.
  • Negotiate effectively with involved parties and adapt communication style to different audiences and situations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely claim files while ensuring activities progress efficiently toward resolution.
  • Prioritize and manage a dynamic workload, balancing daily activities with longer-term file management requirements.
