Requirements
- Production front-end expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern HTML/CSS.
- Portfolio of shipped work demonstrating both design craft and implementation code.
- Strong design sensibility with the ability to set visual direction independently.
- Proficiency in information design, hierarchy, and progressive disclosure for complex data.
- Experience building interfaces for large datasets including pagination, virtualization, and complex charts.
- Proven track record of profiling and optimizing front-end performance.
- Ability to use motion design in code to communicate system state and dynamism.
- Experience building and maintaining scalable design systems in code.
- Ability to read API specs and backend code to understand system data flows.
- AI literacy and experience using AI tools to multiply personal impact.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design and ship the core Restate UI from whiteboarding sessions through to production-ready code.
- Visualize system activity including execution timelines, retries, queues, and failures to assist developer debugging.
- Build data-intensive interfaces capable of handling large result sets, live updates, filtering, and search.
- Design states for varied conditions including loading, empty, partial, error, and complex data density scenarios.
- Optimize front-end performance including rendering costs, data loading, and perceived latency.
- Maintain a consistent mental model across the UI, SDKs, and documentation.
- Build reusable design systems and components in code for use across the product.
