SalaryThe baseline compensation for the Research Fellow and Associate Program Officer roles is $204,500, which would be distributed as a base salary of $180,000 and an unconditional 401(k) grant of $24,500.

Requirements
- At least three years of relevant professional experience (or equivalent in academia).
- Strong quantitative ability and comfort performing calculations in domains with sparse data.
- Pragmatism and ability to make reasonable estimates with limited data.
- Strong written communication skills with ability to explain reasoning transparently.
- Strong listening ability and epistemic judgment.
- Comfort with trade-offs and managing opportunity costs.
- Flexibility to work across a range of evolving topics.
- Master's or PhD in a quantitative discipline related to social science or public health preferred for Research Fellow.
- Experience in consulting, policy, or global health implementation preferred for Associate Program Officer.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and recommend specific grants within a $100 million exploratory budget.
- Conduct desk research to assess potential strategies in AI and global health.
- Build back-of-the-envelope models to estimate social returns and cost-effectiveness of potential grants.
- Interview domain experts and potential grantees to answer key strategic questions.
- Synthesize conclusions and recommendations in writing for senior leadership.
- Rigorously evaluate and synthesize academic evidence relevant to grantmaking.
