Requirements
- Native fluency in Bengali with full command of the script, diacritics, and conjunct forms.
- Experience in document-related tasks such as annotation, transcription, translation, localization, subtitling, or proofreading.
- High level of accuracy in character-level transcription and identification.
- Ability to consistently apply a taxonomy across large volumes of documents.
- Experience working with complex layouts like multi-column newspapers, exam papers, and handwritten forms.
- Proficiency with Bengali input methods and Unicode standards.
- Capability to perform detailed structural and text-based data work.
Responsibilities
- Verify documents for legibility, language, and content before annotation.
- Identify and bound document regions including titles, headings, paragraphs, tables, and figures.
- Assign component types and reading-order indices to all identified regions.
- Link regions to parent components like figures or tables.
- Transcribe all text exactly as it appears in Bengali script, including handwritten content.
- Capture metadata including language, document type, and source.
- Review tasks completed by colleagues to ensure quality.
