Requirements
- J.D. degree and active bar membership in good standing.
- 10+ years of legal experience with significant in-house time at a B2B SaaS or tech enterprise.
- Proven experience leading, mentoring, and scaling in-house legal teams.
- Deep expertise in data privacy and security regulations such as GDPR and CCPA/CPRA.
- Extensive experience negotiating and closing enterprise SaaS customer contracts.
- Solid understanding of software intellectual property law, licensing, and open-source.
- Experience advising executive leadership on governance, risk, and compliance.
- Strong business judgment with ability to balance legal risk and commercial objectives.
- Excellent negotiation and cross-functional influence skills.
- Demonstrated track record of building legal processes in a high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and set strategy for the company's legal function, priorities, and standards.
- Build, manage, and mentor the in-house legal team.
- Serve as the primary resource for data privacy and security law compliance.
- Negotiate complex customer contracts including MSAs, DPAs, and enterprise order forms.
- Advise Product and Engineering teams on intellectual property, licensing, and open-source usage.
- Manage outside counsel relationships, legal spend, and corporate governance matters.
- Oversee employment law and workplace investigations in partnership with HR.
- Establish KPIs for legal operations and integrate AI-driven workflow automation.
