Requirements
- BA/BS College Degree required.
- JD degree preferred.
- 3 to 5 years related work experience.
- Experience handling liability and/or clean-up claims or working in a legal position.
- Complex auto liability experience is a plus.
- Strong verbal and writing skills.
- Solid coverage analysis and drafting experience.
- Aptitude for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating technical, legal, and medical information.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with customers, underwriters, and counsel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated initiative, time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Complete accurate and timely coverage, liability, and damage investigations on complex casualty and environmental claims.
- Make coverage determinations and draft written positions to insureds and other parties.
- Investigate, analyze, document, and manage claims to achieve cost-effective resolutions.
- Set and manage reserves while proactively managing litigation and counsel.
- Represent the company at meetings with management and carriers, as well as at mediations and trials.
