Requirements

  • Strong depth in gas distribution integrity management (DIMP).
  • Understanding of threat identification under 49 CFR Part 192, Subpart P.
  • Experience with replacement prioritization from the operator, consultancy, regulator, or technology-vendor side.
  • Experience with legacy material risk (cast iron, bare steel, vintage plastics, plastic embrittlement).
  • Experience with leak survey, methane detection, or cross-bore programs.
  • Proficiency in machine learning applied to physical asset data.
  • Experience with time-series, survival, anomaly-detection, or classification models.
  • Understanding of physics-based probabilistic modeling.
  • Ability to work across multiple domains with curiosity and judgment.
  • Capacity to produce explainable, calibrated, and defensible risk rankings.

Responsibilities

  • Translate gas distribution threat frameworks into systematic identification methods.
  • Integrate model inputs from diverse datasets across product offerings.
  • Identify and document gaps, inconsistencies, and limitations in source data.
  • Define, build, and validate risk models for gas distribution integrity.
  • Support regulatory proceedings through defensible model outputs.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts and design-partner operators.
