Requirements
- Demonstrated track record of successfully shipping small- to medium-sized software projects or product features.
- Proficiency in Ruby, JavaScript, or TypeScript, with the ability to quickly develop deeper expertise in the broader technology stack.
- Experience with or strong familiarity with back-end development and software engineering practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a startup or similarly fast-paced environment where teams are self-directed, adaptable, and execution-focused.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and ownership skills.
- Fast learner with the curiosity and initiative to continuously develop technical knowledge.
- Comfortable working within Agile development methodologies and collaborating closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to contribute beyond narrowly defined responsibilities and take a proactive approach to solving problems.
Responsibilities
- Develop clean, maintainable, efficient, and reliable software using Ruby on Rails and related technologies.
- Deliver stories, engineering tasks, and complete product features from development through completion.
- Collaborate closely with engineers through pair programming, code discussions, and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups and weekly retrospectives.
- Partner with product, design, and other cross-functional teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Provide subject-matter expertise, technical guidance, and ongoing support to teammates and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and improvement of back-end systems and product capabilities.
- Take ownership of assigned work while identifying opportunities to improve engineering processes, efficiency, and product quality.
- Continuously learn new technologies and apply previous experience to solve evolving technical and business challenges.
