Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience is preferred.
  • Previous healthcare experience is preferred, particularly in patient access or healthcare administration.
  • Revenue cycle experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft applications and familiarity with database systems.
  • Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and patient-centered approach.
  • Demonstrated maturity and sound judgment when interacting with patients, physicians, insurance representatives, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate standard office technology, including computers, fax machines, printers, and scanners.
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage when required.
  • Prepare accurate estimates of patient financial responsibility, collect payments, and establish appropriate payment arrangements.
  • Coordinate with utilization management teams to resolve pre-authorization issues and ensure patients receive necessary logistical and service information.
  • Contact insurance providers to verify patient eligibility and benefits and obtain required pre-authorizations within established timelines.
  • Register patients for healthcare services accurately, ensuring complete information and minimizing duplicate medical records.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, insurance representatives, and internal teams to address questions and resolve issues.
  • Manage multiple administrative and patient access tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and service quality.
  • Use computer systems, Microsoft applications, databases, and standard office equipment to complete daily responsibilities.
  • Organize work systematically and adapt to changing priorities in a remote healthcare environment.
