Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities field from US Schools (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).
- 1+ years of teaching experience in English or college-level Writing Center experience.
- Demonstrated academic excellence (3.5+ GPA).
- Strong verbal skills and mastery of the English language.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.
- Access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise/distraction.
- Commitment to assigned hours of operation from Tuesday through Sunday.
Responsibilities
- Instruct small groups of students in their English core skills to promote long-term understanding and college readiness exam success (ACT & SAT).
- Track student progress through a multi-phase curriculum and identify growth opportunities.
- Maintain and update student lesson schedules and hold students accountable for assignments.
- Model professionalism and organizational skills through timely student communication.
- Spearhead the development and creative execution of evolving lesson plans and curriculum.
- Guide middle and high school students through the college application process with empathy.
