Requirements
- ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) is required.
- FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) achievement or progress is preferred.
- Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a similar quantitative field.
- Typically 4 to 7 years of actuarial experience.
- Knowledge of life insurance valuation principles and actuarial business functions.
- Experience with life insurance products and Statutory or GAAP valuation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including VBA within Access and Excel.
- Experience with analytical tools such as SQL, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Familiarity with actuarial modeling software such as AXIS, ALFA, or PolySystems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Apply actuarial knowledge to life insurance valuation activities for life products.
- Support the implementation and analysis of evolving standards, including Long-Duration Targeted Improvements (LDTI) and Principle-Based Reserving (PBR).
- Prepare, analyze, and explain results for assigned monthly and quarterly valuation deliverables.
- Develop and enhance tools used to validate and analyze valuation results.
- Collaborate with Tax, Controllership, Pricing, and other stakeholders to support business objectives.
- Follow established process controls, documentation, and governance requirements.
- Assist with responses to auditor and regulator inquiries by providing accurate, well-supported analysis.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives involving actuarial data, modeling, assumptions, product development, analytics, and reporting.
