Requirements
- Active, unrestricted permanent license issued by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners.
- Active, unrestricted permanent license issued by the North Carolina Medical Board.
- Must be actively practicing within the geographic boundaries of South Carolina.
- Clinical experience in wound care management.
- Experience supervising or collaborating with advanced practice providers.
- Credentialed, or willing to complete credentialing, with NC Medicare, Medicaid, and contracted commercial plans.
- Clean credentialing history with no payor sanctions or unresolved malpractice actions.
- Comfort with telehealth platforms and photo-based wound assessment.
- Available between 8 am and 6 pm for consultations and provider oversight.
- CWSP or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct telemedicine consultations and initial wound assessments to establish diagnosis, etiology, and care plans.
- Review wound images and clinical data to track healing progress and adjust treatment protocols.
- Direct dressing selection, offloading, compression strategies, debridement plans, and infection management.
- Determine candidacy for advanced cellular and tissue-based products and document medical necessity.
- Provide clinical supervision and oversight to Nurse Practitioners conducting in-home wound visits.
- Coordinate referrals for vascular evaluation, surgical consultation, or escalated care when necessary.
- Maintain timely, accurate medical records and adhere to clinical governance standards.
