Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted permanent license issued by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Active, unrestricted permanent license issued by the North Carolina Medical Board.
  • Must be actively practicing within the geographic boundaries of South Carolina.
  • Clinical experience in wound care management.
  • Experience supervising or collaborating with advanced practice providers.
  • Credentialed, or willing to complete credentialing, with NC Medicare, Medicaid, and contracted commercial plans.
  • Clean credentialing history with no payor sanctions or unresolved malpractice actions.
  • Comfort with telehealth platforms and photo-based wound assessment.
  • Available between 8 am and 6 pm for consultations and provider oversight.
  • CWSP or equivalent certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct telemedicine consultations and initial wound assessments to establish diagnosis, etiology, and care plans.
  • Review wound images and clinical data to track healing progress and adjust treatment protocols.
  • Direct dressing selection, offloading, compression strategies, debridement plans, and infection management.
  • Determine candidacy for advanced cellular and tissue-based products and document medical necessity.
  • Provide clinical supervision and oversight to Nurse Practitioners conducting in-home wound visits.
  • Coordinate referrals for vascular evaluation, surgical consultation, or escalated care when necessary.
  • Maintain timely, accurate medical records and adhere to clinical governance standards.
