Requirements
- Senior engineer experience with modern web stacks including TypeScript, React, Node, and Python.
- Proven technical leadership experience such as a tech lead or lead engineer role.
- Proven experience or clear readiness for line management of a small team.
- Experience with architectural ownership and mentoring.
- Daily, enthusiastic use of agentic coding tools like Claude Code.
- Experience in product partnership, discovery, and trading scope with product peers.
- Excellent written and spoken English proficiency.
- Nice to have: Experience building LLM-powered product features.
- Nice to have: Experience in SaaS, EdTech, or compliance domains.
- Nice to have: Comfort with small-company pace and legacy code alongside greenfield work.
Responsibilities
- Code regularly alongside the squad, setting the quality bar through your own work and code review.
- Own the architecture of the squad’s apps and services, including long-term codebase health.
- Act as the squad’s Tech Lead in product discovery and feasibility sign-off.
- Ship tested working code to main every sprint on a termly cadence.
- Join customer conversations to stay connected to product problem domains.
- Line-manage the squad through regular 1-2-1s, development plans, and performance management.
- Build an engaged, sustainable squad culture as part of the engineering leadership group.
- Work agentic-first and drive adoption of AI coding tools across the squad.
- Coordinate with other squad leads and the Staff Engineer on shared services and dependencies.
