Requirements
- 9+ years of hands-on data analysis experience with complex, high-volume datasets.
- 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring analysts on technically difficult work.
- Expert-level SQL skills, including window functions and query optimization.
- Experience with cloud data warehouse or lakehouse platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.
- Solid grounding in statistics, including experimentation design, hypothesis testing, and regression.
- Proficiency with BI and visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability to independently solve ambiguous, multi-layered data problems end to end.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to senior, non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of data engineering concepts like schema design and ETL to diagnose upstream issues.
- Experience formally managing analysts' performance and growth (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute complex, high-stakes analyses, including deep-dive investigations, statistical modeling, and multi-source data problems.
- Guide and unblock the team on difficult technical problems such as query optimization, data modeling challenges, and handling messy or ambiguous datasets.
- Write advanced, performant SQL against large and complex datasets.
- Build and maintain robust data models and pipelines in partnership with Data Engineering teams.
- Apply statistical methods, including experimentation, A/B testing, and regression analysis, to move beyond surface-level reporting.
- Design and build dashboards and reporting frameworks while identifying when custom analysis is required.
- Set and enforce technical standards for the team, including code reviews and analytical rigor.
- Mentor analysts by working alongside them on difficult technical problems.
- Translate ambiguous business questions into structured, technically sound analytical approaches.
- Present complex findings to senior stakeholders clearly and rigorously.
