Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent advanced degree.
- Active Pharmacist license in North Carolina.
- Strong knowledge of specialty medication pharmacology and pharmacy regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Ability to manage processes and utilize database/reporting tools.
- Strong clinical assessment skills for drug interaction and medication selection.
- Experience or knowledge in specialty pharmacy disease states (Oncology, Transplant, HIV, etc.) preferred.
- Competency in motivational interviewing and patient coaching techniques.
- Experience with EPIC, QS1, or WILLOW software is considered a plus.
- 1+ years of experience strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret clinician patient care notes to provide clinical data for prior authorization approvals.
- Develop and refine disease-specific clinical protocols to maximize adherence and promote cost-effective care.
- Monitor patient medication adherence using PDC reports, mobile platform data, and EMR analysis.
- Recommend alternative therapeutic drug regimens and conduct medication therapy management (MTM).
- Perform clinical interventions including medication reconciliation, synchronization, and patient coaching.
- Oversee pharmacy technician daily activities, including delivery coordination and prior authorization logs.
- Maintain compliance with state/federal drug laws, DEA regulations, and HIPAA standards.
