Requirements
- Substantial prior experience in U.S. immigration and EOIR/removal defense.
- Proficiency in preparing various immigration court filings, motions, and exhibits.
- Strong knowledge of EOIR procedures, terminology, and court systems.
- Experience managing complex hearing calendars and filing deadlines.
- Ability to lead, train, supervise, and mentor other paralegals.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Proficiency with case management tools like Docketwise, Lawmatics, and Microsoft 365.
- Ability to work the required 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time schedule.
- Strong attention to detail and high-level written communication skills.
- Reliable high-speed internet and professional remote workspace.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and support a team of approximately three Removal Defense Paralegals.
- Manage team workloads, distribute assignments, and conduct regular case audits.
- Maintain a personal caseload of 5–15 EOIR matters.
- Manage the department master hearing calendar and track critical filing deadlines.
- Ensure firm SOPs, checklists, and documentation practices are followed consistently.
- Monitor EOIR/ECAS for hearing updates, court orders, and case developments.
- Coordinate case preparation, including exhibit filing and attorney hearing support.
- Identify and address administrative bottlenecks or recurring performance issues.
- Provide team training, procedural guidance, and conflict resolution support.
- Assist attorneys with emergency filings and urgent detained removal matters.
